About the art: The French Impressionist painter Edgar Degas (1834-1917) is perhaps best known for his depictions of the ballet and opera. Probably every young ballet student is familiar with his sculpture “Little Dancer, Aged Fourteen” (c. 1880). The images of dancers on the diary and box were adapted from several Degas works created in the 1870’s.
